If you’re an experienced Business Analyst who keeps going backwards and forwards on whether to change something about your career, this is for you.
Maybe you get home after another day of being cc'd instead of consulted, and spend the train journey home coming up with all the reasons you’ve been left out again. Or perhaps you wake at 3am working out how to put out yesterday's fires, and by Sunday evening you've half-decided to leave and half-decided you're just being dramatic.
You might even have caught yourself hoping for a redundancy so the decision gets made for you. You certainly wouldn’t be the first.
The constant back-and-forth is tiring in itself, and thinking harder about it on your own rarely settles it. You're too close.
So I run a 60-minute Career Sprint Kick-off session where we settle it together.
How it works
1. You fill in a short form (about 20 minutes).
It asks about your last normal working day, whether your job has felt like this at every company you've worked at, whether anything has changed in your life that's got you thinking about this now, and what you've already tried.
*Please complete it at least 24 hours before we meet. If you don’t, we won’t be able to work out what your next career step will be. After all, that’s why you’re here.
2. We spend 60 minutes together on a video call.
We work out what is really causing you this analysis paralysis, whether it’s your role, your company, the BA profession itself or something else entirely.
3. We’ll discover which way to go. For example:
- Stick: the job is fine, but you're not using your best bits.
- Tweak: you like the work, but this company or sector has gone stale. Same skills, new setting.
- Twist: you love one part of BA work and want a role built around it, under a different title.
- Pivot: you want something different. Your experience comes with you.
At the end you'll have
- A clear answer on whether a change is worth making. And if so, what kind of change.
- One next step that fits where you are right now. Not a ten-point plan.
- A one-page summary within 24 hours: your answers, a recommendation, and your next step.
